Flu Clinic

There is a walk in clinic from 9.00 - 12.00 on Saturday 23rd September for all eligible patients from either our Roebuck or Guestling surgery.

If you require a flu jab and are not able to attend this clinic, please contact the surgery for an appointment.

New Patient Registrations

Due to the close supervision order for Dr A Chopra, we are no longer accepting new patients onto our list. This is so that we can continue to offer the same high standards of care to our existing patients. We have agreed our position with the Hastings & Rother Clinical Commissioning Group. If you are a registered patient and have a new baby they will continue to be accepted on to the practice list in the usual way. Please see the latest news section for further details.

LATEST NEWS: Dr Chopra Resignation

Resignation of Dr. Ankur Chopra

I am very sorry to inform you that Dr. Chopra has recently resigned from the surgery. We received his letter of resignation on the 1st of October 2017. Whilst this is disappointing news, we wish him well for the future and would like to assure all our patients that there are no plans to close the practice.

Unfortunately we have not been able to inform you until today about his resignation as there were statutory processes that had to be completed before we were able to make a formal announcement. Our apologies for any distress or confusion the delay in this announcement may have caused, but these circumstances were beyond the control of the practice team.

You may be aware Dr. Chopra has been absent from the surgery for several months. Throughout this time we have endeavoured to keep patients informed although we appreciate this has been limited to due to the lack of information received by the practice.

We have been working with our commissioners, Hastings and Rother Clinical Commissioning Group and the Care Quality Commission to ensure that we continue to deliver high quality care for our patients. We are pleased to announce that following our recent inspection by the CQC which took place earlier this month, the surgery has been taken out of special measures and has been rated 'Good' across all areas. This is great news for the surgery and reflects the hard work and dedication of the practice website as soon as we receive it at the practice.

Dr. Namvar, the Senior Partner at Hastings Old Town Surgery has been working closely with Dr. Chopra to support the practice during his absence. Dr Namvar will now take over the role of Senior Partner for the surgery and will also be your named and accountable GP. However, Dr. Cotta who has been working for the practice for a number of months now will continue to provide GP care.

Dr. Namvar, Maria Bull, the Practice Manager Tracy White and I, have met with the Practice's Patient Participation Group today today to discuss Dr. Chopra's resignation and our plans for the future. We have a number of exciting plans for the future and will be providing regular updates to our patients through practice newsletters and our website.

If you have any questions regarding this announcement, please feel free to contact Tracy White who will be happy to help with any enquiries.

Kind regards,

Penelope Rose
